Palisades Tahoe is famous for its tremendous snowfall and its California sunshine (yes, both are possible). From record-breaking midwinter storms to skiing and riding that can last well into July, snow often comes in abundance in the Sierra Nevada, followed, naturally, by blue skies and bottomless sun. Enveloped by towering pines and adorned in rich wood, Highlands Spa, Lake Tahoe offers a place of renewal and connection amid the resort’s breathtaking grounds. Signature experiences reflect the surroundings including a foot ritual to decompress after a day of skiing and a massage using stones from Lake Tahoe. Natural healers available as enhancements, including CBD oils and Collagen masks, reap nourishing benefits to both the skin and mind. The sprawling resort spa features 17 treatment rooms, relaxation areas warmed by fireplaces, a dry-heat lodge and a eucalyptus steam room. The heated outdoor lap pool looks out over the slopes; a beautiful scene in both summer and winter. All spa access and use of the facilities including hot tub, steam room, sauna, cold rain-shower plunge and lap pool are exclusively for spa guests receiving treatment.

Our studio is located on south shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe. In 2016, we opened our doors to share our love of yoga with our community. We have since started offering specialized workshops, retreats around the world, teacher trainings, and overall wellness services. The largest alpine lake in North America, Lake Tahoe is a cobalt blue lake atop the Sierra Nevada mountain range. On its eastern shores, gently sloping beaches, crystal-clear water and interesting rock formations allow for wonderfully sublime swimming, kayaking and scuba diving at Sand Harbor. Boaters, water-skiers and fisherman can easily launch from one of the park’s two ramps. Visitors who would like a peaceful retreat from surf and sun can picnic in the shade of cedars and Jeffrey pines in one of many picnic sites equipped with barbecues and tables. The park also hosts the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival every summer.

64 Acres Beach is a popular and scenic beach on National Forest land near downtown Tahoe City. The 64 Acres recreation site extends across Highway 89 and includes access to the Truckee River. On the lake side, there is a small parking area and walk-path leading to picnic tables near the beach and portable toilets. On the river side, there is a paved walkway to the river's edge for non-motorized canoe, kayak and raft launching. The site also includes picnic tables and portable public restrooms.

Truckee is well known for its logging, ice harvesting, the Emigrant Trail, as well as for the tragic journey of the Donner Party. You can discover much more about their captivating story at Donner Memorial State Park museum and Pioneer Monument.
